Rachel Keller

Rachel Keller is a fictional character in The Ring film series. The character was created by producer-writer Ehren Kruger, and played by Naomi Watts, serves as the protagonist of The Ring and The Ring Two which share a number of similarities with Reiko Asakawa from the first Japanese films.Introduced in the 2002 film, Rachel is an investigative journalist who must figure out ways to escape death after having watched an unlucky video tape she discovers while investigating the death of her niece. Rachel must dig into the background of Samara Morgan after her son suffers from a mysterious illness. Ruth asks Rachel Keller who is an investigative journalist, to look into the cause of Katie's death. She tells Rachel that she discovered the body of her daughter's deformed corpse in the closet and the reason for her death was a heart attack, despite Katie being healthy and healthy for a teenager. Katie's close friends inform Rachel about the myth of the videotape that was cursed and Becca Katie's friend was institutionalized after witnessing Katie's death. She also learns Katie's boyfriend, as well as two of her acquaintances died in bizarre accidents on the same evening at 10 pm. Rachel journeys from Shelter Mountain Inn to Cabin 12 where Katie and her friends looked at the videotape with the curse. Rachel is able to locate the tape, and then watches it after which the phone rings. Rachel hears a voice utter "seven days". Rachel is known as Noah Clay as a video analyst by her ex-boyfriend. Rachel is later informed that Aidan (her son who was with Noah) watched the tape and informed her that he believed what she said. Rachel looks through the tape to find the lighthouse, and discovers that it is situated on Moesko Island. This was the home of Anna Morgan, an evil horse breeder who was cursed to be on the tape with the cursed name. Rachel uncovers that Anna had an adoptive daughter, Samara. She was capable of creating disturbing images in the minds animals, humans and other objects. Rachel meets Anna's widower Richard, but he makes her leave as she begins to ask questions about Samara.
