Cynthia Ann Crawford was born 20th February 1966. She is an American actress, model and a TV host. In the 80s and 90s she was among the most famous supermodels. She was also a ubiquitous presence on magazine covers and runways as well as on fashion-related campaigns. The following years she diversified her acting abilities and entered into business. The sophomore year of high school saw her get the phone number of an apparel shop in the area about modeling work. Then she realized that it was a joke call by two of her students. Crawford was contacted by a different retailer the following year to model for them. They also held a fashion shoot. In her junior year, local photographer Roger Legel, whose duties included photographing another college girl to be that week's coed for the DeKalb Nite Weekly, asked to take her picture to be published in the magazine. The result was Crawford's first cover. The picture and the positive comments the magazine received helped convince her to take up modeling. She started with an agency with a small size. Elite Model Management bought it right after she signed. In 1983, she entered Elite's Look of the Year contest aged 17 and reached the finals at national level.
